Shoot Out At The OK Corral!

This Thursday Mark Boardman will be speaking about a Hendricks County connection to the Old Wild West.

Mark Boardman first got into the Old West when he watched TV Westerns with his father. He entered the field 25 years ago, researching and writing about various Old West figures and events. That led to his becoming the Features Editor at True West Magazine in 2005. Four years ago, Mark was named Managing Editor of The Tombstone Epitaph, the newspaper that covered the OK Corral shootout in 1881.

For the past decade, Mark has also been the Pastor at Poplar Grove United Methodist Church, south of Monrovia. And yes, he does give sermons that include Old West references!

IT’S PARTY TIME!!

This Thursday is our Year End Party at the Cartlidge Barn located at the Hendricks County 4-H fairgrounds. Happy Hour is from 6:00-7:00 pm and dinner at 7:00 pm. Please RSVP to Tracie Shearer, if you haven’t already. Shared Blessings Food Pantry will be grilling the meat for us and we will be collecting non-perishable items for them. Please also bring a side dish or dessert to share. Meat and drinks will be provided.

In an attempt to honor Charlie Jones, we will be awarding a scholarship in his name to a deserving 2022 graduate. If you were going to make a donation to your favorite charity, as asked by his family, would you please consider making a donation to the scholarship fund instead? Thanks for another great year of Rotary. See you in July!
