Baby Box!

On September 10th the Danville Rotary Club contributed $5000, which was raised, to the Danville Fire Department for the installation of a “Baby Box”. This box will be placed at the Fire Department and babies may be placed there when a mother feels that she cannot safely care for their child. She can know that someone will immediately retrieve the child and it will be cared for.

Our International Service Committee, of which P. T. Wilson is the chair, will be providing our program for Thursday’s meeting. Ronn Oren and Kevin Hill will be giving us updates on the two international projects that our Club is supporting this year. We’re sure it will be lively! Don’t forget this meeting will be held in the Cartlidge Barn at the fairgrounds. See you then!

Raffle tickets were pulled today (3 September 2020) and we would like to congratulate the following winners.

$7500 – Peter C Davis, sold by Mark Morgan
$800 – VanLaere4, sold by Greg VanLaere
$600 – Christy Catt, sold by Doug Catt
$400 – Doug Miller, sold by Heath Allen

Here comes Captain Jack

Captain Jack Sadler, with the Hendricks County Sheriff’s Department, will be our speaker this Thursday, September 3rd, in the Exposition Hall at the Hendricks County 4-H Fairgrounds Conference Center. (Yes, it’s September! Can you believe it?) He will present a power point on the opioid program/problem facing Hendricks County. Jack is a 2019 graduate of Leadership Hendricks County, where this was one of the capstone projects.

Did you know that Danville Community School Corporation now has its own Police Department? Come to the Rotary meeting this Thursday in the Cartlidge Barn to hear what is new and what Chief Oliphant’s new position entails.
Please bring any raffle ticket money, both for the big one and for the September 17 golf outing VISA gift card.
